3540997 - Integration from Ariba to S/4HANA Cloud fails when country code is omitted in IBAN

Symptom

During the integration from Ariba to S/4HANA Cloud the following error messages are encountered:

  • ISO code XX is not assigned to a country key
  • Error occurred for partner xxxxxxx
  • (Info message) No users assigned for recipient (/CMDBP CMD_BP)

Environment

 SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Monitor Replication app
  2. Select Replication Model under Monitoring scope
  3. The above mentioned errors are displayed

Cause

The error arises due to incorrect IBAN values being sent in relation to countries through an outbound or inbound payload.

Resolution

IBAN starts with a country code and follow a standard format. For example, if the country code is 'IN,' the IBAN should be 'IN123456711111.'

In this scenario, the supplier has only provided '123456711111' omitting the country code. This omission is causing the integration to fail and resulting in the reported error.
