3541969 - Optimizing message received after first opening of story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Users get the following message when opening optimized story:
  • "We are optimizing the story so that it will load and open more quickly in the future". 
• Because of this message, the load time for opening the story might taking longer.

1. Log on to SAC.
2. Open optimized story.
3. Notice the message shows.

• This is an expected behavior.
• With the Optimized Experience, instead of spending the first few seconds of story opening to generate all the queries, we use Persisted Query Information. The Persisted Query Information is created and stored for the first page within the story when a story designer saves a story in the Optimized Experience. It is also supported in View Time when a Viewer creates a Bookmark with a Default Page. 
• Persisted Query Information allows the data related queries to be sent to the backend (sever) as early as possible on story open. It allows the client in parallel to the sever processing the queries to focus on rendering visualizations and rendering other components within a dashboard.

• When a story has been edited, story definition is changed, therefore a persisted cache is also regenerated with it in parallel so this could cause an expected longer loading time the first time you open the story. 
• The purpose for this so that the next time the story opens, it will open more quickly. 
• Persisted Query Information can become invalidated once the data model structure changes (i.e. Add / Remove Dimension, Add / Remove Measure, and so on). Within this scenario, Viewers will take a one-time performance hit where the Persisted Query Information is regenerated on Story Open. It is recommended for this scenario that a Story Designer re-saves the story as it will re-generate the Persisted Query Information for all Viewers.
