3542022 - Error in Planning Run with Misleading MRP Logs

• Issue with planning run.
• Error message: Processing of 3 product/planning areas failed on low-level code 1.
• The error is visible in the General tab, but no error is recorded in the Results tab.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to the Supply Planning work center.
2. Go to the Automated Actions view and select Planning Runs.
3. Find and select the relevant Planning Run ID.
4. Open the relevant Application Log ID.
5. Click Edit.
6. Observe that the Overall Status says: Errors Occurred.
7. Under the General tab, see the error: Processing of 3 product/planning area combinations failed.
8. Expand the above error message to see: Processing of 3 product/planning areas failed on low-level code 1.
9. Go to the Results tab and Expand All.
10. Observe that there is no error recorded.

The issue is a known problem with misleading MRP logs at the General tab and the Results tab.

1. Disregard the error reported in the general tab.
2. Consider the information contained in the Results tab.
3. If no error is reported there, there is no issue.
4. If errors are reported under the Results tab, open a case for it.
