3542232 - The Information in the <Description> Tag is Not Being Transferred for the Description of the Price Components of an External Over-the-Counter Sale Created Through a Web Service

Symptom

When creating a new External Over-the-Counter Sale document via Web Service, the <Description> tag is not being recognized in order to change the description of the price components.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to the Soap UI.
  2. Execute the payload to create the External Over-the-Counter Sale ABC. (where ABC represents the External Over-the-Counter Sale ID).
  3. Logon to the Business ByDesign system.
  4. Go to the Customer Invoicing Work Center.
  5. Go to the Invoice Requests View.
  6. Filter for All Invoice Requests.
  7. Search for the External Over-the-Counter Sale ABC.
  8. Open, Select View All.
  9. Navigate to the Pricing tab.
  10. Select Expand All button.

The description maintained in the payload for the Price Components is not displayed.

Cause

As per the current design, the <Description> tag will not perform any changes/updates (even though passed in the payload) because the Description field is created grayed out for the Price Components in the External Invoice Requests.

For the other documents such as Sales Orders or Sales Quotes, the Description field is enable during and after the creation of the document being possible to update the Description field of the documents via web service.

Resolution

This is current the standard system behavior.
