3542716 - Frequent Backups in SAP HANA Database Despite Configured Parameters

Symptom

  • The SAP HANA database is performing log backups more frequently than intended.
  • Despite setting the log_backup_timeout_s parameter to one hour, the database is backing up several times an hour.
  • The backed-up logs are usually under 100MB, which should not trigger the max_log_backup_size parameter set to 16GB, or the log_segment_size_mb parameter set to 2048MB.
