3542756 - Error "FILE_NOT_ALLOWED" when attempting to upload a file using RESTFul API's on the WACS server

Symptom

  • After upgrading to BI 4.3 SP4 P8, you are unable to upload any files of any kind using the RESTFul API running against the WACS server. 
  • When you try you get the error:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
    <error>
    <error_code>FILE_NOT_ALLOWED_code</error_code>
    <message>FILE_NOT_ALLOWED</message>
    </error>
       
  • If you make the call against tomcat, you can upload the file just fine as long as it is in the approved upload.file.allowed.formats list as per kbase 2290548
