3542806 - Infected with 11 at sqlexc_prepare_current_block - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • A varchar(60) column was altered to be varchar(100).
  • A trigger references this table and altered column and was not recreated or have dbcc upgrade_object run against it.
  • Subsequent executions of the trigger resulted in a SEGV at sqlexc_prepare_current_block along with a stacktrace similar to this:
    sqlexc_prepare_current_block
    s_compile
    sequencer
    exectrig
    s_execute
  • Recreating the trigger resolves the problem.
