• The error message displayed is: CalcEngine ceInstantiationHandler.cpp(00295) : CalcEngine Exception: exception 306106: Undefined variable: $$<HANA View Variable name>$$ 
• The Web Intelligence (WebI) document is based on a HANA Calculation Views which has HANA variables defined. And it is using a Relational HANA database connection.
• The issue happens when the user used in HANA connection has lower access rights or has restricted access roles
• If changing the HANA connection to use a more powerful HANA user and refresh the query again, it works well
