Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office

Resolution

An Office Add-in consists of two parts: the Add-in manifest file and the web application running in the pane (LINK). These are the versions that can be seen in the About dialog.

Application Version
SAP deploys a new version of the web application each month. The new version is automatically updated in all users. The format used is "YYYY.NN.PPP", where "YYYY.NN" refers to the wave and the ".PPP" is the patch number. The higher, the newer the version.

Add-in Version
The Add-in manifest contains the definition of "SAP Analytics Cloud" ribbon menu, e.g. if we add new buttons to the ribbon then a new manifest version is deployed to the Microsoft Office Store. Add-ins deployed via central deployment from the Office Store will automatically get the new version. For Add-ins installed manually (like as part of Pilot Note 3289743), it is necessary to manually deploy the new add-in manifest to update the version. The format is "A.BB.C.D", where "A.BB" refers to the version and ".C.D" is the patch number. The higher, the newer the version. The latest manifest version number can be found in Office Store and the Add-in release plan is in SAP Note 2937385.
