Symptom
- A custom tax condition type "ZABC" has been created and records added in "Maintain Tax Relevance for Customers" and "Maintain Tax Relevance for Materials" within the Central Business Configuration.
- However, there is no option found to assign the tax condition type "ZABC" in the Customer and Material master records.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the app: Manage Customer Master data
- Select Customer A
- Click on Edit
- Go to Sales Area
- Select line of Sales Org B and Distribution Channel C and edit
- Go to Taxes tab
- The Default Tax Category is Output Tax (TTX1)
- There is no option to change and assign custom Tax category 'ZABC'
- The same issue occurs with Material Master.
Cause
Standard system behavior.
Resolution
First, the material and customer master data the tax classifications can be maintained, but they not necessarily belong to the tax condition type.
Secondly as there is already a tax condition type, you can maintain customer tax classification 1 and product tax classification 1. And can use the configuration in the access sequence of the tax condition in app VK12 or Manage Prices - Sales. Then the corresponding tax condition type will be determined according to the condition records maintained.
