3544143 - HANA Database Unavailability Caused by Unresponsive Mount Points

Symptom

  • SAP HANA database becomes unresponsive when a remote NFS mount point (e.g., /sapbackup) becomes unavailable.
  • Log backups fail and hang the database with errors such as:
    • Cannot open file "/sapbackup/HDB_GRD/backup/log/SYSTEMDB/.log_backup_..."
  • Database does not recover automatically after the mount point is restored and requires a manual restart.
