Symptom

  • listener.log shows service register fails:

    23-NOV-2024 04:26:34 * service_register_ * 12537
    TNS-12537: TNS:connection closed
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
      TNS-00507: Connection closed
       64-bit Windows Error: 232: Unknown error

  • "lsnrctl status" doesn't show our database information

  • DB connection hitting error: 

    ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
