3544704 - Group Reporting: After running Initialize Settings in an EC-CS client Data Monitor is not accessible due to an error pop-up

Symptom

Official transition process from EC-CS to Group Reporting is described in SAP Note 2833748 and SAP Note 3592099. Accordingly, when EC-CS is already in use, customer can either perform a

  1. transition from EC-CS to Group Reporting acc. SAP Note 2833748,
    or
  2. greenfield setup of Group Reporting - with presence of EC-CS acc. SAP Note 3592099.

Activation of Group Reporting - without EC-CS in place - is described in FAQ SAP Note 2659672, point 1.1. As stated there, "by activating the Best Practice scope item XX_1SG_OP or running Initialize Settings in an EC-CS client, which contains EC-CS configuration without any transaction data in database table ECMCTEC-CS becomes unusable!"

This KBA treats the follow-up symptoms, when user disregarded the aforementioned point 1.1. of SAP Note 2659672, and run Initialize Settings in an EC-CS client (as ECMCT was empty and existing EC-CS configuration was not needed any more). This means, by running Initialize Settings, EC-CS become unusable. However, Data Monitor (for Group Reporting) is not accessible due to an error-popup referring to the old EC-CS consolidation versions. In such a situation, a cleanup of EC-CS consolidation versions is required to defer that error pop-up.
