3545013 - Unposted Source Documents: 'Number range interval overflow for document type XYZ'

Symptom

  • Unposted source documents with the error
    'Number range interval overflow for document type XYZ' (XYZ represents the transaction document type). 

  • Is it possible to change the Number Range Profile in the system?

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the General Ledger Work Center > Source Documents view.
  2. Select "Unposted Source Documents"
  3. There are some source documents with the error 'Number range interval overflow for document type XYZ'. 

Cause

The reason this error is appearing is because for a specific Company and Set of Books, for the specified document type and the specific Financial Year the number range has run out.

Resolution

Currently, once the Number Range Profile is set, it is not possible to change it later.
