3545543 - "Select a key from the allowed namespace" Error When Creating an Access Sequence.

Symptom

  • Customer encounters the error "Select a key from the allowed namespace" when attempting to create their own access sequence in the system.
  • The error occurs when saving a new access sequence in the pricing configuration.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to "Implementation Activities" in the system.
  2. Click the Sales button.
  3. Click Basic Functions.
  4. Click Define and Assign Text Determination Procedures.
  5. Select "Set Up Text Determination for Sales Document Header".
  6. Navigate to "Access Sequence".
  7. Click Create, then select New Entries.
  8. Enter the value *** for the Access Sequence.
  9. The error message "Select a key from the allowed namespace" occurs.

Resolution

  • SAP Standard Access Sequences use these IDs predefined by SAP which are within the 0000–8999 range. These IDs are standard configuration to prevent users overwriting standard functionality.

  • For Customer Custom Access Sequences, these IDs are within the 9000–9999 range, to keep custom configurations separate from standard SAP functionality, maintaining system integrity during upgrades.
