3545633 - Non-Sequential Order of Business User Numbers in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When creating business users in two different systems, for example, in the Development and Test systems, the order of the user numbers is not sequential. Even the users are created in the same order in both systems.

The business partner number, which forms part of the business user number, is internally generated at the time of creation. The order of these numbers is not guaranteed to be sequential.

• In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the number range for Business Partners of type workforce (Employee, Contingent Worker) starts from 9980000000. The business user, i.e., the business partner of type workforce and their associated user, gets the number CB + business partner number.
• The business partner number is internally generated at the time of creation. 
• Therefore the non-sequential assignment of CB numbers is not an issue and does not affect the functionality of the system. This works as standard system design.
