Symptom
- When navigating from an SAC table widget that includes a ranking (such as Top 10) to the Data Analyzer, the ranking is carried over.
- There is no option to remove this ranking within the Data Analyzer.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud
Reproducing the Issue
- Open a story that contains a table widget.
- Enable the 'Open data analyzer in table' option.
- Create a ranking in the table.
- Navigate to the Data Analyzer.
- Observe that the ranking is also applied in the Data Analyzer and there is no option to remove it.
Cause
The current Table widget in the Story Designer uses an older method for supporting TOP N.
This approach relies on sorting rather than a dedicated filtering mechanism, which is not aligned with the preferred framework for interoperability.
Resolution
Currently, the option to remove the ranking in the Data Analyzer is not available.
However, as part of ongoing improvements, TOP N filters created using this older method in Story Tables will no longer be transferred during navigation to the Data Analyzer. An error message will be displayed in this situation "One or more TopN / Rank operations have been dropped as they are not supported in data analyzer.".
