3546128 - SAP HANA Cloud: Error when attempting to create _SYS_BIC schema

Symptom

  • An attempt to create a schema on SAP HANA Cloud results in an error.
  • The issue arises when trying to execute the following command: CALL "xxx"."CREATE_USERGROUP_SCHEMA"(SCHEMA_NAME => '_SYS_BIC', OWNER_NAME => 'xxx').
  • The error message received is: (dberror) [383]: invalid identifier: "xxx"."CREATE_USERGROUP_SCHEMA": line 21 col 2 (at pos 884): _sys_ prefix not allowed: _SYS_BIC: line 1 col 15 (at pos 14).
