Symptom

Business Role Template SAP_BR_DEVELOPER is not available.

The Business Role Template SAP_BR_DEVELOPER comprises the functions required by developers to create and manage development objects using ABAP Development Tools and in addition the required tools for troubleshooting and debugging the resulting artifacts. 

It supports the following tasks:

  • Create and manage development objects using ABAP Development Tools
  • Create and release Transports
  • Debug your own or other users
  • View logs and traces available in ABAP Development Tools
  • Use the data preview for released or custom CDS Views
  • Execute Console Runner applications using ABAP Development Tools
  • Deploy UIs into the ABAP System

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to "Business Role Templates" application
  2. Search for SAP_BR_DEVELOPER 
  3. Not found

Cause

Business Role Template SAP_BR_DEVELOPER is only used to Developer Extensibility and therefore is only available in a Development Tenant (Client 080). 

The Development Tenant is only available for 3-System Landscapes. Therefore, in a 2-System Landscape this Business Role Template does not exist by default.

Resolution

Use the Development Tenant (Client 080) of your 3-System Landscape instead.
