Symptom
When using Customer Returns (BKP) to handle single materials with variant configuration in the past, since release CE2502, get error "Transaction REVC PD is not defined" during returns order processing.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (CE2502 and upper versions)
Cause
The error is due to an improvement since CE2502. In the past, for single material with variant configuration, item category RENV (Returns Item) is used by default in the returns order. This may cause some problems, for example, variant configuration is not visible in returns order with item category RENV.
To improve the end-to-end experience in customer returns, new content has been introduced with a new scope item 7KW - Customer Returns for Material with Variant Configuration. With this, a new item category REVC is introduced and set as the default item category for single material with variant configuration in the returns order.
In CE2502, 7KW is available for Germany and United States. For other countries or regions, 7KW would be rolled out at later release. With the activation of scope item 7KW, it can work smoothly without any error.
Resolution
Before 7KW is rolled out in your region, you can follow the below steps:
- Open the configuration activity "Assign Item Categories (ID: 102807)".
- Find the combination of "sales document type CBAR" and "item category group 0002".
- Adjust the default item category from REVC to RENV, and set REVC as a manual item category.
- Save it, transport it, and then try to create returns order again.
- It is the same for the combination of "credit memo request GA2" and "item category group 0002": Adjust the default item category from GAVC to GAN2, and set GAVC as a manual item category.
Activate scope item 7KW for a better end-to-end experience when it is available in the corresponding country/region. Till then, set REVC as the default item category for CBAR, and GAVC as the default item category for GA2.
