3548534 - Default settings for decimal format and time zone in business user creation

Symptom

When creating a new business user in SAP S/4HANA Cloud system, certain user fields, such as Decimal Format, Time Format, Date Format, Time Zone, Logon Language are empty or filled with a default value that wasn't entered.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

General determination of default user is done by the following priority:

  1. Country of Workplace Address
  2. Country of Private Address
  3. System Settings

Resolution

The user's setting will fill the workplace address based on the company information provided. So the country maintained in the company code address would be the basis for the user attribute defaulting.

Example 1: Maintain Company Code '1010' and Language 'DE' in the CSV file, then upload it to Manage Workforce. This is because 1010 belongs to Germany, and based on the country information DE, the TimeZone CET (Central Europe) and Decimal format 1.234.567,89 should be generated.

Example 2: Maintain Company Code '1510' and Language 'JP' in the CSV file, then upload it to Manage Workforce. This is because 1510 belongs to Japan, and based on the country information JP, the TimeZone JST (Japan) and Decimal format 1,234,567.89 should be generated.
