Symptom

After installing the SAP HANA data provisioning agent, the agent service is not starting. 

Error in the configuration tool:

  • Start service return code: 0
  • Cannot connect to agent. Trying again after 3 seconds
  • Cannot connect to agent. Trying again after 3 seconds
    (...)

Errors in the framework trace:

  • <Date> [INFO ]  DPFramework | SecureStoreUtil.<init> [] - Initializing secure storage using /usr/sap/dataprovagent/sec
  • <Date> [FATAL]  DPFramework | SecureStoreUtil.<init> [] - Missing sec file at /usr/sap/dataprovagent/sec. Please create the file and restart the agent.
