Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Outbound Logistics Control work center.
- Navigate to the Customer demand view.
- Search and select the relevant order.
- Choose the respective line item and chose the Actions button.
- Select the option Check Availability.
The availability check signal is Amber even though there is enough stock available to fulfill the demand.
Cause
- The availability check displays a green signal indicating the orders are confirmed sufficiently if all the requested quantities can be delivered on the requested date time.
- The requested date for the line item in your demand is in the past.
- Since the requested date is in the past, the item(s) cannot be delivered on the requested date.
Resolution
- The system will always display an amber alert when and if the requested date is in the past, as the orders cannot be delivered on time.
