Symptom
- Warning message V1501 (Target qty of reference: &1 &2 (total referenced: &3 &4)) is issued when creating/changing an order with reference to a Quantity contract and increasing the order quantity.
- It is expected that the system would prevent saving the order but no error message is raised.
- There is a requirement to change this message from a warning message to an error message.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Manage Sales Contract app..
- Create a contract document XXXXX with 10 PC for material A.
- Open the app Create Sales Order (VA01).
- Press "Create with reference".
- Go to the Contract tab.
- Enter document XXXXX.
- Copy.
- Change the order quantity from 10 to 15.
- Warning message V1501 is issued.
- Press Enter to skip the message.
- Sales order can be saved without error.
Cause
- This is the expected system behaviour.
- From a business perspective, it should be possible to order more quantity than the quantity entered in the contract. When increasing the order quantity in a subsequent sales order, the system assumes that this is the desired operations of the end users.
- As a result, only the warning message V1501 is issued to remind the end users about this situation, but the system will not forbid this operations with an error message.
