Symptom

  • Following error can be seeing in the any of the Java-base server's logs:
    • Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure
       at sun.security.ssl.Alert.createSSLException(Alert.java:131)

  • The behavior and/or error message shown in the front-end can vary depending on the workflow that is being reproduced
  • This can be seen in any workflow that involves SSL/TLS communication with another application.
