Text Widget is not translated from one language to another in SAP Analytics Cloud.

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2024.15.16

The languages below were chosen to exemplify the issue.

1. Logon to SAP Analytics Cloud.
2. If the Data Access Language is set to English, change it to French.
3. Access the story. 
4. Notice that the "By Period" field is not translated to French. 
5. From the main menu, go to Translation and look for the same story.
6. Check the translation for this story and notice that "By Period" has been translated to "Période".

"By period" text widget is a carryover from when the story was created through a story template or layout.

• In this case, the translation logic is not applied.

If your text widget is not being translated and the story is created from a template or layout, change the text to something else, save, and then change it back, before applying the translation. 

1.  Change the text widgets on the story to a new string, then save it.
2.  Go to the Translation page, open the corresponding story's translation page.
   1.  Find the string, the text box should be highlighted. When mouseover, it should show "Translation obsolete as source text has changed. Add and save new translation".
   2.  Use the "Copy From Source" button, which is located between the source and translated strings, to copy the source string to the translated string. 
      This will make sure the HTML tags are preserved. Then enter the French string, overwriting the English string.
   3.  Save the translation.
3. Change the Data Access Language for the user from English to French, and view the story.
