3551328 - Error "Reference data of International System Unit is not valid." while trying to deactivate some of the Standard Unit of Measure (UoM)

Symptom

Error "Reference data of International System Unit is not valid" shows while deactivating some Standard Unit of Measure (UoM).

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2
 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click on User Menu
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Go to All Settings facet
  4. Go to Products
  5. Go to Unit of Measure
  6. Search for UoM like 'WATT'
  7. Uncheck Visible checkbox
  8. Error: Reference data of International System Unit is not valid.

Cause

This is not feasible as the above Unit of Measure are set as International System Unit: True. 

Resolution

This is the current system design and expected system behavior.

If you would like to hide the corresponding UoMs in the tenant, please check the workaround below.

  1. Go to Extensibility -> Code list restriction 
  2. Select Product as business entity 
  3. Select Unit Measure Code as Code to Restriction 
  4. Click Next 
  5. Switch off Unrestricted checkbox 
  6. Click Save 
  7. Refresh the tenant
