Symptom
#1 An error message "You are not eligible for this benefit on (month/dd/year) is displayed when attempting to retroactively change the Effective From date of a Benefit Enrollment record.
#2 The Entitlement amount field in the Benefit Enrollment object is read-only and cannot be updated . See below:
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- Global Benefits ( LOD-SF-EC-GBF)
Reproducing the Issue
#1 Replication steps: Error You are not eligible for this benefit
- Go to Manage Data
- Benefit Enrollment>Record Example 05/16/2024
- Make correction> Change Effective From 05/16/2024 to 01/16/2024 (4months before), then Save
- Error You are not eligible for this benefit on Januar6 16, 2024
#2 See image : The Entitlement amount field in the Benefit Enrollment object is read-only and cannot be updated:
Cause
#1 The issue with updating the Effective From date is due to the system not currently supporting the insertion of a past dated time slice.
#2 The inability to update the Entitlement amount is due to the field being hardcoded as read-only in the system configuration.
Resolution
#1 For updating the Effective From date, a date correction can be performed via import. (Export the benefit record and correct the date manually)
However, the insertion of a past dated time slice is currently not supported and is on the roadmap for future releases.
#2 For updating the Entitlement amount, a new field in the Benefit Enrollment can be created and set to editable. Use oninIt rule in Benefit enrollment to set the editable field with the required Benefit Entitlement Amount. This field can then be used in Manage Config UI.
