3551796 - Error "The space couldn't be deleted" when deleting empty space in SAP Datasphere using Seamless Planning

Symptom

  • Using Seamless Planning in SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere.
  • All artifacts in the SAC were removed which reference the space.
  • The space appeared empty and showed no artifacts, but the space could not be deleted.
  • Despite this, the space could not be deleted in SAP Datasphere. An error message was received stating that there are still objects in this space:

The space couldn't be deleted.
We can provide the following information to assist either you or an SAP engineer to solve the issue:
HTTP Status: 405 error
Error Code: deleteContentDataRepoStateFailed
Technical Message: space SPACE_NAME cannot be deleted as it contains SAP Analytics Cloud models. In order to delete this space, you must first delete the models in SAP Analytics Cloud. 

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Attempt to delete the seamless planning space in Datasphere.

Resolution

  1. Make sure there are no SAC models for that particular Space.
  2. In case the issue persits, wait for 24 hours after the last dimension, model was deleted from SAC.
  3. Re-attempt to delete the space again in Datasphere.
