Symptom

Customers might encounter difficulties when attempting to delete customer master data that was erroneously created and is no longer needed.

However, there is no data can be used in the APP ILM Data Destruction.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Execute Scope:5LE for testing the deletion of customer master data.
  2. Identify the customer master data created by mistake, with the code xxxxx.
  3. Attempt to delete this customer data following the script test steps.
  4. Execute step 4.2.2.5 and observe the lack of data.

Resolution

  1. Verify User Role Assignments: Ensure that the user attempting to delete the customer master data has been assigned the Data Privacy Specialist business role, which is necessary to perform deletion tasks.
  2. Use the 'Archiving' Option: Use the 'Archiving' option available in the action tab to facilitate the deletion of master data.
    Steps:
    • Navigate to the customer master data.
    • Select 'Archiving' from the action tab and follow the 5LE scope item step 4.2.2.4 for detailed instructions.
  3. Check for Data Privacy Settings: Ensure that all necessary data privacy settings and configurations are correctly implemented in the system. This might include settings for data retention and deletion policies.
  4. Review Migration Scripts and Templates: Confirm that all steps in the deletion scripts are correctly followed and that there are no omissions or errors in the migration templates used.
