3553533 - Error: Number Range Interval Overflow For Document Type XXX

A business transaction on document shows: Number range interval overflow for document type XXX (XXX represents the document type).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Go to Source Document view.
3. Search for source document in question.
4. Click on view business transaction, can see task: Number range interval overflow for document type XXX.
5. However, if checking the specific Company and Set of Books, for the specified document type and the specific Financial Year the number range is not exhausted. 

This particular number range is not particularly used only for journal entry type XXX whereas it is being used for multiple other journal entry types as well under the number range profile.

To see the number range profile used:

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Open the Activity List.
3. Search and open the activity: Set of Books.
4. Select the relevant Set of Books.
5. Select Edit.
6. Go to the Company Settings Tab.
7. Select the relevant Company from the list.
8. At the bottom of the screen the Number Range profile is displayed.

Change the defined number range to a new one which is not used.

1. Go to the Business Configurations work center.
2. Open the Activity List.
3. Search and open the activity: Journal Entry Types and Number Ranges.
4. Select Edit number range profiles for Journal Entries.
5. Highlight the relevant Number Range profile and update to the new one.
