3554067 - Purchase order accrual is not reversed on the first day of next period - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Some purchase order accruals are not reversed on the expected date.

Below is an example.

A purchase order (1200 EUR) with start date 1.1 and end date 12.31 is created.

Accrual posting on January:

1.31        -100

2.1          100

Accrual posting on February:

2.28        -200

3.1          200

…

Above is the standard behavior. However, sometimes, changes are made in PO start and end date, and accrual life start and end date was changed to 1.1 ~ 3.31.

Then accrual posting on March should be:

3.31        -300

There will be no reverse posting on 4.1. Reversal will be posted together in 4.30.

Accrual posting on Apr:

4.30        +300

4.30        -400

Reversal on first day of next period does not happen.

If the expected reversal date is not between Start of Life and End of Life, then there will be no reversal on 1st day of next period, which is standard behavior. If reversal on first day of next period is expected, then changing the purchase order data can be considered, which will result in changing of Start of Life and End of Life.
