A Withholding Tax Return Run takes several hours to complete even though it finishes with successful message: "No tax item exists for period DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY".

"DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY" represents the concerned period for the Withholding Tax Return Run.

SAP Business ByDesign 2411

1. Go to the Tax Management work center.
2. Go the Withholding Tax Return Runs view.
3. Open the respective run and its Application Log.
4. Observe the timestamps on Started On and Changed On and notice that the run took several hours to get completed (for example, more than 3 hours).
5. Move to Results tab and notice the successful message: "No tax item exists for period DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY".

As per the existing logic if there are no open items for return selected period, the system is not considering this and tries to fetch all the business partners information available in the system. The system further tries to retrieve associated tax number details of these business partners which causes long loading time in spite of this return run not having any open items during the respective period.

To resolve this issue a code correction is required, and will be addressed in a future SAP Business ByDesign Release.
