3554818 - When selecting 'No Manager' in Manage Users Tool the result box is displayed without the name

Symptom

  • When attempting to change the manager in the 'Manage Users' tool to 'No Manager', the 'No Manager' box is displayed without the name "No Manager".
  • This issue occurs when trying to assign 'No Manager' to both the 'Manager' and 'HR Manager' fields.
  • Instead of displaying a 'fake user' with the label 'No Manager', a blank field is displayed, and the interface cannot save a 'null name' when the 'Save' button is pressed.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. From the home page, type 'Manage users' in the 'People search' bar and select the 'Manage users' tool.
  2. Select any user from the employee list.
  3. Locate the 'Manager' field, delete the current manager's name, and attempt to write 'No Manager'.
  4. Observe that instead of displaying a 'fake user' with the label 'No Manager', a blank box result is displayed.

Resolution

This is a known issue, and the code fix will be applied in next version 2505.  As a workaround, disable feature 'Enable adoption of General Display Name' on page Company System and Logo settings.
