3554824 - Exchange rates are not correctly determined in Billing Documents - SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Symptom

Determination of Exchange Rate in the Billing Document is not correctly for FI posting.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Create Billing Documents app.
  2. Enter Delivery/Order Number.
  3. Check the Exchange Rates determined in the billing document.

Cause

Resolution

The exchange rate for FI posting is about conversion of Local Currency and Document Currency for Financial(FI) postings. If there is a manual entry in the sales order field Exchange Rate-accntg (Goto -> Header -> Accounting), then it is copied into Exchange Rate-accntg. Otherwise Exchange Rate-accntg is determined during invoice creation from the currency tables according to the billing date. It is supposed that manual entry has higher priority. The exchange rate for Accounting is always determined with exchange rate type M, even though a different exchange rate type is maintained in the customer master record.

In Intercompany billing scenario, the exchange Rate-accntg field is always redetermined, because sales order and intercompany invoice could have different local currency, so it doesn't make sense to copy the exchange rate.
