Symptom
The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC):
- When creating a table with both adaptive column width enabled and column headers wrapped, the table does not resize properly to fill the full space of the widget.
- The effect is most noticeable on big screens like 4K, but it can also happen on any desktop or laptop resolution.
- The result is that the actual table is crammed in a small space when much more space is available and taken by the widget.
Environment
Sap analytics cloud 1.0
Reproducing the Issue
- Enable Adaptive Column Width option for a table widget
- Apply wrap styling to the column headers
- Notice that a set width is applied to the columns and it won't change when extra white space is distributed to the columns
Cause
Normally, when enabling the Adaptive Column Width, if there is leftover white space, it is distributed evenly to all columns and the table fills the full space of the widget.
But since the wrap styling is applied, the expected behavior is that the columns will be exempt from the white space distribution.

Resolution
To use the Wrap style, it is recommended to turn off the Adaptive Column Width option.
This gives more control to manually resize the column to the desired width for displaying the wrapped text.
