3555278 - LinkedIn icon on Employee Profile

Symptom

Is not possible to create links for the LinkedIn icon in the Employee Profile header directly to an employee's profile.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click on the LinkedIn icon at the Employee Profile header
  2. It redirects to a generic URL, which automatically picks the First name and Last Name of the user to search for similar names instead of opening the URL added at Contact Information portlet.

Cause

This is Expected Behavior.

Resolution

This is a system limitation, when clicking on the LinkedIn icon, it will take the First Name and Last Name from the employee profile and search it on LinkedIn. It does not take you directly to a specific profile nor we can configure it in that way.

We encourage you to submit an enhancement request to have this functionality considered within future development cycles – you can do this on our Customer Community Portal at http://community.successfactors.com/. For detailed steps please refer to KBA 2090228 on “How to submit an enhancement request”.
