3556509 - Error "Data is incomplete" generated during BOM Migration with line item containing item category R

Symptom

When migrating BOM with line item containing item category "R" (variable size item), there is an error message generated with error as "Data is incomplete" in Simulation process. Also, there is no field available in BOM template for V-S item.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
- "Migrate Your Data – Migration Cockpit" app
  - Migrate Data Using Staging Tables

Cause

The corresponding item categories are not supported by migration object "Material BOM".

Resolution

Migration object "Material BOM" only supports the following 4 item categories and others are not supported in the standard template file:

L-Stock item
N-Non-stock item
T-Text item
K-Class item

Therefore, it's necessary to remove the unsupported item category and select a supported one to proceed with data migration.
