Symptom
- A candidate is initiated for onboarding from RCM with a default hire date of 12/31/2999.
- The process involves completing onboarding for this candidate and then updating the actual hire date in Manage Pending Hires (MPH).
- However, once the candidate reaches MPH, the record is not selectable, and no details appear on the dashboard except the hire date.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Transfer the candidate from Recruitment Management to Onboarding with a default hire date of 12/31/2999.
- Complete the onboarding process for the candidate.
- Move the candidate to Manage Pending Hires.
- Attempt to update the hire date to the actual date in MPH.
- Observe that the candidate name is blank on the dashboard, with only the hire date displayed.
Cause
The system only supports dummy hire dates up to the year 2099. Using a date beyond this limit (e.g., 2999) causes the candidate data to be inaccessible in MPH.
Resolution
Set the dummy hire date to a maximum year of 2099. This ensures the candidate is visible and accessible in MPH. This behavior is consistent with Employee Central’s handling of effective date entities.
