3557563 - SUM Exception 20 in Get Roadmap | SAP Knowledge Base Article

Symptom

In the SUM phase Get Roadmap, you may encounter the following error message:

the tool is not running. Press the "Next" button to start the Software Update Manager.

Choose "Exit" from the "User" menu to end the Software Update Manager.

Tool exits with generic exception: 20.

Additionally, in the CONFCHK_KRNL.LOG file, you will find further details about the error:

1EETQ399 Get Version Infos: Checking the mandatory variable 'release' of tool 'processor': value is 'null'.
1EETQ399 The mandatory variable 'release' of tool 'processor' is empty!
