An external candidate is not searchable when creating a rule trace
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Resolution
Please follow the steps below:
Part 1:
- Go to Configure Object Definitions >> Object Definition: Rule Trace
- Take Action >> Make correction
- Set mdfSystemExternalUserVisibility >> Visibility to "Read Only"
- Add Initialize Rules, to set External User Visibility to Yes
- Save
Part 2:
- Create a rule trace with any login user
- Go to Import and Export Data, export the created rule trace
- To get the exported Rule Trace, go to the Scheduled Job Monitor, and look for MDF Data Export job type. Click on View Details and click on Download Status.
- It would download a Zip file which has a file named Rule Trace.csv. Open Rule Trace.csv in Notepad++ or any other app, but do not open it in Excel, as it causes alignment issues leading to import failure.
Now in csv file, replace the admin user ID with the new hire User ID, save the file, and update the ZIP file. - Go to Import and Export Data, import the updated rule trace
- Go to Manage Data >> Rule Trace, and you will find the candidate as the Login user
Part 3:
- Log in as the candidate and reproduce the issue
- Later, you can reach out to SAP Support for further assistance to get the results from the backend logs.
