Symptom
- Proxy import process results in deletion of all proxies instead of creating new ones
- File import is filled with YES in "All" column only but result is deleting existing proxies instead of creating it
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Proxy Import
- Choose the file to import > Select UTF-8 character encoding
- Select Import proxies
- System validates and accepts the file, processing results are sent via email
- Email notification indicates all proxies are deleted and none are created for example:
- Total records received: 913
Total proxies created: 0
Total proxies deleted: 913
NOTE: Proxies deleted (who have been provided proxy permissions via RBP) will now have proxy permissions to access all modules and their permissions are not restricted to specific modules.
- Total records received: 913
- Check in Proxy Management confirms users no longer have proxy rights
Cause
This is usually due to formatting configuration in import file.
Resolution
Ensure that the column contain YES in all caps and without any trailing spaces. If you use yes/Yes/"YES ", it will not fail the import file, but will fail the data imported.
If START_DATE and END_DATE columns are maintained, also ensure to use the proper format "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm".
