3559088 - HANA DB Alert Email Trigger Not Working with TLS Connection

Symptom

  • Alert notification emails configured in the HANA DB system are not being triggered and delivered to the respective recipients.
  • Telnet connection from the DB server to the mail server has been enabled successfully.
  • Alerts work when sent without TLS, but fail when using the TLS connection.
  • Error message in trace file: "SMTP protocol error, expected 250, got 530: 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated"
