Symptom
The export functionality is displaying inactive records, even when you set "Include inactive records" to "No".
Environment
SuccessFactors - Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- A Cost Center record is made inactive in Manage Data via inserting a new record effective as today.
- Open the "Import and Export Data" tool.
- Select "Export data" action from the dropdown.
- Select the "Cost Centre" object.
- Set "Include Inactive records" to "No".
- Click on the "Export" button.
- The deactivated cost center shows up in the report with active status with the effective date of the first time slice of the record.
If you deactivate the original record, it is not showing up in the export file.
Cause
The issue is due to the system design where the "Import and Export Data" tool shows the record as active if it includes any active time slice.
The system exports all effective dated records, and if there are multiple records, the system will include the active ones (the inactive time slice with the effective date will not be present).
Resolution
If a report on the active records is needed, use reporting options instead of export data (like advance report for mdf object).
