3559294 - Task "Review and Release Project Invoice Request" Assignment to Non-Responsible Employee in Projects

Symptom

An task titled "Review and Release Project Invoice Request" was assigned to an employee who is not responsible for the associated project.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Application and User Management work center.
  2. Go to Business Task Management view.
  3. Search for the task "Release Failed: Review and release Project Invoice Request X" or "Review and release Project Invoice Request X" ( 'X' is project invoice request ID). 
  4. Click on the task icon to view the details.

System returns the task assigned to the work center instead of the responsible.

Cause

The task assignment is determined based on the organizational unit of the Business Object (BO), in this case, the CPIR. Despite the employees not being associated with the relevant organizational unit of the CPIR or Project, they were assigned the task due to their assignment to the "Project Management" and "Customer Invoicing" work center.

Resolution

This is a standard system behavior.
