3559295 - MDF Rule Only Works for the First Record in Parent-Child Object

Symptom

The MDF-based rule only applies to the first record within each effective start date record. If there are multiple records for a given effective start date, the rule becomes ineffective for the second record onward.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core

Reproducing the Issue

1. Create a rule for a Parent-Child MDF object, using the Parent as the base object.
2. Observe that the rule only applies the first record and not the subsequent ones.

Cause

The base object should be the Child, not the Parent, to apply this rule to all records.

Resolution

Create an identical rule with the base object selected as the Child object.
