3559358 - Standard Field Person ID External is not appearing in the Manage Permission Role under Employment Information

Symptom

The 'person-id-external' field is enabled in Manage Business Configuration under Employment information, but it is not appearing in Manage Permission Roles to grant permissions for the Employment information portlet.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SF instances.
  2. Navigate to Manage Business Configuration -> Employment information.
  3. Enable the standard field 'person-id-external'.
  4. The field does not appear in Manage Permission Roles to grant permissions.

Cause

The 'Person ID External' is a transient field, meaning its content is not saved to the database but is calculated on-the-fly.

Resolution

  • Engineering team confirmed that field person-id-external is no longer supported in Employment Information.
