3559408 - Old Goods And Activity Confirmation Reappearing in Unposted Source Documents

You are experiencing a situation where old receipts from your Point Of Sale Transactions are reappearing in unposted source documents. You observe these receipts belong to the Posting Periods that are already Closed and you believe these have already been posted and therefore should not be appearing. Hence, you want to understand the reason for the "reappearance" of the Goods and Activity Confirmations under Unposted Source Documents.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to the General Ledger work center.
2. Access the Source Documents view.
3. Select the option to show Unposted Source Documents.
4. Notice that a few Source documents of the type 55 - Goods and Activity Confirmation are unposted.

There were messages stuck in the backend for the affected Source Documents with the error "Issued quantity exceeds the current quantity at logistics area ABC" (ABC represent the Logistics Area ID). At the reported period, the system retriggered the processing of the XI messages and as Stock was available, the system was able to create the Goods and Activity Confirmations. However, as the Proposed Posting Dates are Closed, the Goods and Activity Confirmations could not be posted and are appearing under Unposted Source Documents with the related error "Period XXX in fiscal year YYYY closed for closing step Operational postings".

XXX represent the Period number.

YYYY represent the calendar year.

The system is therefore working as designed.
