Symptom

Error 'Draft for ETO Process Object could not be obtained' when using app Order Engineering Worklist in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 

Environment

  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
  • Engineer To Order with Advanced Variant Configuration

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Order Engineering Worklist (F4770) app
  2. Select a Sales Order
  3. Go to Edit mode
  4. Error 'Draft for ETO Process Object could not be obtained' is raised

Cause

user lacks authorization to create/modify ETO processing objects

Resolution

Please enable "Write" access in business role "SAP_BR_BOM_ENG_CUST_ORDER" which contains the corresponding business catalog SAP_PLM_BC_ORDER_ENG_PC  "Product Lifecycle Management - Order Engineering Worklist".

Afterwards it will be possible maintain the ETO order items in the Order Engineering Worklist app.
