3560354 - Unable to Preview in Create Correspondence App - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

In the "Create Correspondence" app, an error message is displayed as below when attempting to preview the correspondence file.
"A technical error has occurred. Please try again later."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Create Correspondence" app.
  2. Select the company code, specific correspondence and fill in the related fields.
  3. Click the 'Preview' button or 'PDF Preview' tab.
  4. The error message "A technical error has occurred. Please try again later" will be encountered.

Resolution

  1. Try opening the application in a different web browser and repeat the steps.
  2. Clear the browser cache and cookies as they might interfere with rendering PDFs properly.
    This can be done by following the steps provided in this link: Troubleshooting Chrome PDF Viewer
  3. If the issue persists, try to reproduce the error by selecting Print instead of Preview.
  4. Then open the app Display Correspondence History and find your record. Check if the preview PDF is available.

For Chrome, set the flags as below. And PDFs should display correctly in Chrome. 

  1. Change chrome://flags/#pdf-oopif to 'Disabled'.
  2. Set chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments to 'Open PDFs in Chrome'.
